Second Trimester

I am now officially in my second trimester! Also, I had tons of fun this last weekend in St. George with the Cardons. We went down to celebrate my niece's second birthday. I'll have pictures here in the near future.

I thought I would post this picture again but this time with an outline since these things are hard to visually read. I just assumed everyone would be able to see the baby because it was so easy to pick it out in the ultrasound since we saw it in several different positions. Hope this helps. I can't get over how cute it is. I wish I could make my tummy transparent so I could see it all the time. My next appointment is on Feb. 9th and I will post another picture if I get one.

I saw this link on a friend's facebook. I read the NY Times ad to AJ and could barely do so without crying. I am so touched that other faiths will stand with us when religious freedom of speech is looked down on and so much animosity has been unduly directed toward the Church.

I AM PREGNANT!!

Sunday, November 30th (2008 of course) I was curious. AJ and I had been trying for a baby for a couple months and AJ found some amazing deal on Chinese pregnancy tests online. They were 10 for $2. So Sunday night I tried one.


The trouble with this particular test is the packaging is in Chinese and online it said one line means no, two lines means yes. But, the package showed four out comes: 1) one line = no, 2) two dark lines = something in Chinese, 3) dark top line, light bottom line = something , and 4) light top line, dark bottom line = something. I got number 3 and I had no idea what it meant! Is that like a maybe? So I decided (very quickly, I might add) that it was worth it to purchase a "real" test. I bought one Monday and did the test Tuesday and vuala! Pregnant!

I had my first check up today. Boy was I excited for it! I have been waiting a month and a half. Everyone kept apologizing for this and that and I was just happy to be there and to get to experience it. AJ went with me. We did an ultrasound and the baby was so cute! We could see the quick pulsing movement of its chest caused by its beating heart. Its heart rate is 174! We could see its little head body, arms, and legs. And we could see its little arms and legs move! It was one of the most joyous moments of my life seeing this little body. The baby is at 9 weeks and the due date is August 5th.

I wanted to wait until my appointment to tell people so I could be sure it was "real". Sometimes I just wasn't sure it was real because I felt so well. I haven't had a lot of really bad morning sickness. I've only thrown up once...knock on wood. Mostly my stomach is unsettled or I am light headed. The biggest thing is I am always hungry although I sometimes can't seem to eat. My body doesn't want to intake certain foods. They don't smell bad or anything, my body just doesn't want it.

But I am so excited to tell people! I have been waiting for the Relief Society "good news minute" forever!! I finally have something to say. I mean it isn't like nothing good ever happens to me it's just that I don't think the entire RS cares that I love Jason's Deli's broccoli cheese soup and I had it last week.

Look how cute my little angel is! I wish the image was as sharp as the ultrasound seemed to be. I think its hand is where it looks like it has a Jay Leno chin.

Board Game New Years

We had the chance to go up to Centerville and stay with AJ's parents for a few days over the New Years break. Kate and Steve came up the night of the 31st. We found an box full of old games and played them until the midnight. We played Mad Gab (which AJ liked so much he brought it home with us - I do NOT like it), Mind Trap, Bananagrams (the game rocks!), and we talked a lot about playing Monopoly but thankfully (although to Steve's dismay) we didn't.

I guess the ball was "green" this year which made me chuckle some because of all the lights and music surrounding the ball drop. It seemed somewhat insignificant, but I guess every little bit helps.

It was a fun night and a fun stay with Karma and Steve!

Christmas in the Sun

My favorite thing about my parents living in AZ is we get to visit them for Christmas! I love a sunny Christmas much more than a snowy Christmas (is that anti-American?!) and I got to bask in the warmth this December.

AJ and I took our new Accord down and stayed the night in St. George with Erika, Marcus, and Olivia, who were there for business. That night Olivia and I danced to River Dance on TV and watched Yogi Bear's Christmas while dancing and spinning in an office chair til the room wasn't steady anymore. Then we continued on to Mesa. The drive seemed to last forever but we finally made it and with very good weather conditions the whole way.

We visited with many friends from high school over the course of that week and we visited with my parents. Christmas morning was fun. We watched Olivia open her presents. This time she had graduated to being more interested in what was inside the wrapping paper than the packaging itself. But she was so excited with the first few gifts no one could get her to open the rest of her mountainous stack.

I love being at home! But we had to go on Monday so we car-a-van'd back with the Cardons. We tried to take HWY 9 to cut from the 89 to I-15 but we didn't know that Zions Nat'l Park owned the road and we didn't want to pay the $25 per car to use the road, so we had to back track a little and hit the 20 which we feared would be nasty. But it was fine the whole way! Lucky Stars.

I have pictures but I am super lazy and I think I will say that I will post them later. To be entirely honest, I don't know if I actually will.
